As I was researching if it was proper to use chalk to outline the information on a grave so you could read it I found out how to clean old grave stones.

Col. Fleming Hodges (b. Feb 26, 1815 Smith Col, TN – d. July 1893 Lonoke, Arkansas.) “He had considerable talent for trade, and moved to Mississippi”4 He married 1st Katherine Whitaker after her death he married 2ndMargaret Crayton on Nov. 15, 1838 in Mt. Hope, Lawrence County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (McDaniel) Creighton who was born August 9, 1821 in Courtland, Lawrence County, Alabama 5 He died July 27, 1893 in Arkansas and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Shelby County, TN.
